Health and Safety Procedures
The safety of our community has always been a top priority, and we're even more focused on it now. As we begin to gradually resume our in-person lessons, we've made changes to how we operate - all to keep our students, families, and tutors safe. We are gradually restarting our in-home lessons as of August 1, 2020. Please read about our updated policies and procedures below and ensure you are aware of your responsibilities for in-person lessons.
Please note that virtual lessons will always be possible and we are happy to continue with lessons online. We have lots of availability for online lessons and we will do our best to accommodate your ideal schedule.
We have included our guidelines below for both students and tutors to follow during the in-person lessons.
Wear a mask covering their nose, mouth, and chin for the duration of the lesson.
Follow physical distancing guidelines.
Wash their hands thoroughly with soap or hand sanitizer before and after each lesson.
- Bring their own writing materials and calculators (if applicable).
- Cancel lessons or move the lessons online if they are experiencing any symptoms or illnesses, have travelled in the last 14 days, and/or have been told by Public Health to quarantine or self-isolate.
- Each tutor will be going to a maximum of three different homes for lessons in order to minimize exposure. The rest of their tutoring lessons will be taking place online only. As a result, we will have a limited amount of in-home tutoring spots available.
Student and Family Responsibilities:
If the lesson is taking place in your home, please ensure that you have an open space for the student and tutor to meet for the lesson. Physical distancing is still required and the tutor will be sitting 2 meters (6 ft) away from the student.
Bring your own writing materials and calculator (if applicable).
Students are encouraged to wear a face mask for the duration of the lesson though it is not mandatory.
If the student or a member of your family is feeling unwell, please cancel the lesson or opt to move it to our online platform. We will continue to waive the 24 hour cancellation fee if you need to cancel due to feeling unwell. Please send us an email as soon as you feel as though you might need to cancel so that we can give the tutor as much notice as possible.
We have made the decision to keep our Tutor Centre closed for the time-being, and we will only be offering lessons online, in student's homes, or at a public library. We are unfortunately not able to accommodate any other meeting places at this time.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we navigate this uncertain time together. We are here to answer any questions you may have for us.
