Frequently Asked Questions
How do payments work?
There are two options for payments:
Why can't I pay cash?
Since our tutors are so busy and teaching all over the city, it can get difficult to keep track of all the cash payments. We keep everything online to make sure all transactions are recorded and tracked accurately. Thank you for your understanding!
Are packages refundable?
Since you are receiving a discount on the hourly rate, all packages are non-refundable.
How do I schedule a session?
To schedule a session please call 613-230-9675 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will match you with a tutor who is familiar with your course and can meet you at your desired location (either in-person or online).
Where can we meet?
You choose! We will do our best to meet at whatever location is most convenient for you. We can come to your home or meet at a nearby public library. We also are happy to meet at our Tutor Centre.
Should I schedule weekly times or book as I go?
Totally up to you!
How long are the lessons?
We're flexible on that too! For in-person lessons, the minimum lesson length is 1 hour. We are also happy to meet in-person for 1.5 hours, 2 hours, or even 3 hours.
Do you tutor [insert course]?
Yes! We can help students in all math, statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, English, and French courses offered in elementary school, high school, or university. Check out our courses page for a full list of the subjects we tutor. If you don't see your course on that list, send us an email and we'll see if we're still able to help out.
Will I have the same tutor each time?
Yes! We believe that consistency is key so we do our best to ensure that you have the same tutor for each session. This also makes sure that your tutor is familiar with your course and your progress.
What should I bring to my session?
Your school work and your questions! We find that the best way to make the most out of a tutoring session is to come prepared with your questions and/or specific problems that you would like some extra help with. This way, you and your tutor can cut right to the chase and work on whatever your struggling with that week.
How does virtual tutoring work?
We have a virtual classroom that is designed specifically for tutoring. There is the ability to share notes, screen share, a virtual whiteboard, and video and audio. You will receive a link to your own private classroom 24 hours prior to the lesson time and your tutor will meet you there when the lesson starts.
