  • How long are the lessons?
We're flexible on that too! For in-person lessons, the minimum lesson length is 1 hour. We are also happy to meet in-person for 1.5 hours, 2 hours, or even 3 hours. For virtual lessons, the minimum length for a lesson is 30 minutes. We always recommend scheduling at least an hour though so that you can get all of your questions answered!
  • Should I schedule a weekly time or book as I go?
Totally up to you! Most students choose to schedule lessons on a weekly basis because it ensures they have a tutoring session every week to ask questions, tackle problems, and have difficult concepts explained to them. It also ensures that they have the same tutor each time. Get ready for stellar marks when you choose weekly sessions! Booking as-you-go is a great way to get help when you need it. Just be sure you schedule in advance as times fill up fast.
  • How do I schedule a private lesson?
To schedule a session please email or call (613) 230-9675. We will match you with a tutor who is familiar with your course and can meet you at your desired location (either in-person or online). You can also use our Online Booking Tool to schedule a virtual lesson with one of our tutors.
  • Where will the lesson take place?

  • How does virtual tutoring work?
We have a virtual classroom that is designed specifically for tutoring. There is the ability to share notes, screen share, a virtual whiteboard, and video and audio. You will receive a link to your own private classroom 24 hours prior to the lesson time and your tutor will meet you there when the lesson starts.
  • How can I register for Homework Club?
Login to your Ottawa Tutoring account and browse available Homework Club sessions in the calendar. When you decide on one that works best for you, register for the session directly in your account.
  • Do I have to attend the full two hours?
Homework Club is designed to be a space where you can independently study and ask questions as needed. We recommend attending for the full two hours to give yourself the opportunity to get as much studying done as possible. That being said, if you only want to drop in for an hour or 90 minutes, that's okay too! Please note that you still have to register online for the full two hour block time.
  • How often can I attend?
As often as you'd like! Feel free to register for as many Homework Club sessions as you'd like. You could even attend them back to back if you wanted a longer study session.
  • Where does Homework Club take place?
We offer Homework Club sessions at our Tutor Centre located at 40-838 Somerset Street W. Click here to read more about our bright and welcoming study space.
  • Do I have to have homework to attend?
Not necessarily! A lot of students choose to use Homework Club as a place to effectively study before an upcoming test or just to review school work from the day or week.
  • Are packages refundable?
Due to the discount that they provide, all packages are non-refundable. The hours will remain on your account for one year from the date of purchase and can be used for any subject within that time period.
  • How do payments work?
There are two options for payments: 1) You can purchase packages of hours in advance and use them up throughout the semester. Best of all, we offer the packages at a discount. We will alert you your package is running low so know to buy a new package. You can also monitor your package balance in your Ottawa Tutoring account. 2) You can pay-as-you-go and we will send invoices to your email on a bi-weekly basis. We will automatically charge the credit card on file and you will only be charged for the lessons that took place in the two week period prior. This way, you don't ever need to worry about payments!
  • Can I pay cash?
We unfortunately don't accept cash. Since our tutors are so busy and teaching all over the city, it can get difficult to keep track of all the cash payments. We keep everything online to make sure all transactions are recorded and tracked accurately. Thank you for your understanding!
